College Essay Forbidden TopicsYou have had your college essay finished and you are quite happy with it. It is now the time to send it in to an editor and see what they say. Unfortunately, there are many college essay topics that you will never be allowed to use because they are too hot buttons for college students to use.One of the forbidden topics is anything relating to religion. Do not write about the values you hold, what you believe in or how you came to that belief. There is nothing wrong with discussing these things, but if you use the word god at all, the editor will probably have a word filter installed on your submission and you will not get past their desk.Another taboo topic is any sort of political or academic themes. If you are allowed to touch on these topics, make sure that you do so in a very indirect manner and never over do it. Many editors read the lines carefully and if the line says something like this; 'the civil rights movement was brought to you by god,' your sentence will be rejected.Although it is nice to express yourself as a person, it is also nice to express yourself as an expert in some topic. If you can, try to do both. The editors want to know why you think that you are an expert on a certain subject and what knowledge you have that is of great value to the reader. Here are some forbidden topics that you can never use.Homosexuality - Lying about your sexual orientation is also illegal. Many editors will reject your essay if you openly admit to being homosexual. You could do this in a subtle way and have it read that you were joking about the topic or simply expressed that you do not believe in homosexuality.Personal and/or political opinions - Never speak ill of anyone and always do not pretend to know more than you do. Whether you have a large amount of money or do not, your opinion is nothing more than a hunch and no one has ever proven that you are right or wrong. You cannot use this information as fact, when using a college essay.Religion - This includes anything you read in the Bible or reference that comes from the Catholic Church or other religious organization. Religion is a very touchy territory and it is never acceptable to openly say anything negative about the religion. These topics should be left out altogether and only used in the most indirect way possible.Once you find the forbidden topics that are being used by editors and when you realize that you are not allowed to talk about these topics at all, you will find that it will be a lot easier to write a well-written essay. Simply use them as tips on how to write a better essay and do not use them as actual forbidden topics.
